Biography
Edward P. Romaine is the Suffolk County Executive, taking office in January 2024 after serving as Brookhaven Town Supervisor for over two decades (1998-2023), making him the longest-serving supervisor in Brookhaven's history. A graduate of Villanova University and St. John's University School of Law, Romaine practiced law before entering public service. As Brookhaven Supervisor, he was known for fiscal conservatism, environmental initiatives, and neighborhood revitalization. As County Executive, he presented a $4.3 billion operating budget for 2026 focusing on public safety, environmental protection, and family services.
