Biography

Dr. Errol D. Toulon Jr. is the Suffolk County Sheriff, first elected in 2017. He made history as the first African-American sheriff in Suffolk County. Toulon holds a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) and an M.B.A., as well as serving on the Stony Brook University Council. He is a member of the New York State Sheriffs' Association. The Suffolk County Sheriff's Office is responsible for the operation of the Suffolk County Correctional Facility, civil enforcement, and court security. Under his leadership, the office has expanded re-entry programs and mental health services for incarcerated individuals.
