Biography
Senator Anthony H. Palumbo represents the 1st Senate District, covering the North Fork, East End, and northern Brookhaven in Suffolk County. A lifelong Long Islander, he earned his B.A. from the University of Scranton and his J.D. from St. John's University School of Law. Before joining the legislature, he served as a Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney for eight years, prosecuting violent crimes. He served in the New York State Assembly before being elected to the Senate in 2020. Palumbo is known for his advocacy on behalf of the East End's agricultural and fishing industries, his opposition to bail reform, and his support for property tax relief. He lives in New Suffolk with his family.
