Biography
Senator Alexis Weik represents the 8th Senate District, covering parts of the Towns of Islip and Babylon in Suffolk County, including communities such as Sayville, West Islip, Oakdale, Bohemia, and Bay Shore. A lifelong Suffolk County resident, she was raised in Ronkonkoma and Oakdale and lives in Sayville. She was first elected to the Senate in 2022 and won re-election in 2024. Weik has been a strong advocate for public safety, education, environmental protection of the Great South Bay, and support for veterans and first responders. She has worked on legislation to combat drug trafficking, protect seniors from scams, and support local small businesses.
